NAAAW Workshop Review

The 14th NAAAW was a successful fun packed weekend. Thursday opened with a talk from Mel B.,with 61 years of sobriety and the author of several related books Mel certainly was an easy listen.Events included a full day of Preservation and Conservation with David C. and his workshop team, hands on workshops included paper repair, encapsulation and much more.Talks on the Ethical Archivist, 75 Years of AA history with GSO Archivist Michelle, The Old-timers panel,a special tour of the Georgia Repository and of course great food. What unity was felt throughout the weekend.It was great to see another Area 83 registrant, Neil B from Hamilton.
The 15th NAAAW will be held in Montana followed by the 16th NAAAW in North Florida. Our AA history is alive and

14th National Archives Workshop Macon, Georgia Sept 23-26, 2010

Stay tuned for information from the 14th National Archives Workshop.
As the archivist for Area 83, I have the privilege of bringing forth a bid with unanimous support from Area 83 Eastern Ontario International to host the 16th Annual AA National Archives Workshop in 2012 in Toronto. This would be an extremely exciting event for Archives and Area 83 as a whole.

The 14th National Archives Workshop will be held in Macon, Georgia September 23rd through September 26th, 2010 at the Marriott City Center.The program will feature all the normal great sessions on preservation, archiving and organizing. A special presentation from Bill W. who wrote My Name is Bill W. and most recently When Love is Not enough: The Lois Wilson Story, Bill W. will be presenting a workshop on how to research and tell the AA story along with Mel B., who wrote Pass It On. A New Wine, Ebby's Story, and several other books and more than 60 articles in the Grapevine.
There will be a private screening of the new Hallmark Film When Love is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story starring Wynona Ryder and Barry Pepper, as well as other films about AA. the Old-timers program will feature members with over 50 years of sobriety.
